The second meeting of the Youth Dialogue for Central Asia kicks off in New York

Today, on April 16, 2025, the second meeting of the Youth Dialogue for Central Asia began at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The event is organized under the coordinating role of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan within the framework of the UN ECOSOC Youth Forum. The establishment of the Youth Dialogue for Central Asia in Arkadag city and the continuation of its activities reflect the region’s commitment to realizing its demographic potential. Youth make up a significant part of the population and, with the right support and cooperation, can become a powerful driver of economic development. Investments in youth education, employment, and regional cooperation are essential for the sustainable development of Central Asia. The forum was opened under the leadership of the Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, who acted as the moderator of the meeting. Participants were shown a thematic video, after which the main program of the event commenced. Taking part in the Dialogue are the Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN, Aksoltan Ataeva, delegations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of youth organizations from across the region. It is expected that the meeting will result in the adoption of a final document in the form of an Address of the participants of the second meeting of the Youth Dialogue for Central Asia. This document will consolidate the achievements made and outline mechanisms for implementing new ambitious projects and initiatives. The Dialogue is regarded as an important platform for youth interaction across Central Asian countries, promoting partnerships and the exchange of best practices. Participants also intend to discuss the preparation of a draft Regulation on the procedure for holding the Youth Dialogue for Central Asia, which will provide for the annual rotation of host countries within the region.
